The Environmental Technician is responsible for the operation of the District’s Household Hazardous Waste facility, supports the Regional Household Hazardous Waste Program, facilitates mobile collection events, and provides additional hazardous waste services as assigned. The Environmental Technician provides technical leadership in the proper collection, transportation, and management of hazardous wastes; serves and supports the public, local businesses, regional programs and the District; and ensures standard operating procedures are being followed and all regulatory requirements are met.

Leads and oversees offsite grinding and service operations including commercial organics pick up and product sales. Responsible for balancing revenue as well as driving services, ensuring safety, product quality, efficiency, and productivity.

Job Overview: Operate the scale house to record in-coming and out-going weights, generate billing information for Finance and accept payments for product sales. Advises and recommends proper application for compost and soil blends to customers. Inspects in-bound loads for contamination.
