Minnesota Composting Council Job Board

Research Analyst position at USCC

This full-time, remote, multidisciplinary position will focus on research, collection, interpretation, and analysis of data related to regulations impacting the composting industry and for compost use initiatives.
Specific focuses will be:
  • Assisting with research efforts for a USCC grant-funded, multi-year, targeted national campaign to expand compost use in non-agricultural sectors such as landscaping and turf management.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of the USCC’s research on incentives to expand compost infrastructure, compost use, decrease contamination, and other associated efforts on composting and related areas. 
  • Assisting with data collection, organization, and maintenance of compost industry data within USCC databases, ensuring high-quality datasets that support research, reporting, and strategic initiatives

Dem-Con Public Relations & Education Coordinator

This position is responsible for the continued growth and development of the Green Grades recycling and education program. This role would include educational content development, virtual and in person facility tours, community education and outreach events, social media posts on recycling, school presentations, grant applications and management, and engagement in industry trade associations. The role also includes supporting the Marketing Director with content development and coordination of marketing efforts with the educational program.

Circular Action Alliance - Program Analyst - Minnesota

Reporting to the Minnesota State Program Manager, the Minnesota Program Analyst will be responsible for conducting analysis of Minnesota’s Packaging Waste and Cost Reduction Act program obligations and waste management systems to support the development of Minnesota’s stewardship plan, which is due to Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) October 1, 2028. This role requires a blend of technical data analysis, regulatory insight, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure Minnesota’s EPR program is data-driven, equitable, and effective.

Dakota Prairie Composting - ​Scale Attendant

Are you looking for a part-time, seasonal position that has room to grow? Dakota Prairie, SMSC’s Organics Recycling Facility is looking to add a Scale Attendant to their team! The perfect fit for this opportunity is a good multitasker, dependable, and has customer service skills. If you are looking to join a growing community with flexible scheduling, SMSC is the place for you. Whatever your career goals may be, let SMSC help get you there! This is a part time, seasonal position. The hours available are Monday - Thursday 7:00am-7:00pm. Fridays 7:00am-5:00pm and Saturdays 8:00am-2:00pm.

Job Overview: Operate the scale house to record in-coming and out-going weights, generate billing information for Finance and accept payments for product sales. Advises and recommends proper application for compost and soil blends to customers. Inspects in-bound loads for contamination.
